What exactly is FLIGHT CLUB?
We love wine. We love making it. We love sharing it. We love exploring all that it has to offer. So join us in a series where we look at some of the most fabled and loved regions and wines around the world.
But these amazing wines are not always accessible. So we have found the best way to try them is as a group! A small group that can taste, ask questions, learn, argue and laugh.
And as our tastes and learning shifts, we will let the group decide what region or wine we explore next. Wine for the people, by the people!
“Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.” ― Benjamin Franklin
Episode #8: Chardonnay, Old and New
For our eighth installment of Flight Club we decided to examine one of the most polarizing wines on the market - CHARDONNAY! Whether you love it or believe in A.B.C. (anything but chard), it is a much-talked-about wine that has gone through many permutations!
Join us for an exploration of the history (Charlemagne, anyone?!) and evolution of Chardonnay to its status as one of the most planted grapes in the world. We will discuss why Chard is such a chameleon in style, why Chardonnay can get buttery, and how Chateau Montelena bested the Burgundies in 1976.
This will be another fun and informative tasting with bottles ranging in styles (crisp, full, sparkling, oxidized) and age-- dating back to the 80s and 90s.
